    sending mail from a perl program on xp

    How do I write a perl program to send mail from an xp box?
    specifically, I am writing a clearcase trigger that sends mail
    on a checkout. This functions perfectly from unix but I also
    need it to run from xp for my clearcase users that use the
    clearcase client on the desk top

    Use a module. There are quite a few to choose from. My personal
    favorite is Mail::Sender.

      I installed the lastest version of cygwin and using
      elim, a drop-in replacement for sendmail and that worked
      for me.
