jasper and IReport against Oracle

Hi,

Brand new to jasper and IReport with Oracle.

Was able to load and connect IReport to Oracle DB and created my first reports.

Unable to connect Jasper to the DB nor import my IReport created reports.

Jasper and IReport running on Windows, Oracle on a different UNIX server.

Please help if you can.

please specify the exact error message that you are getting. Read books for more details.

JDBC Data Source

* Driver com.mysql.jdbc. Driver
* URL jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mydb
* User Name
Password
Time Zone America/Chicago - Central Standard Time

test connection: Test failed

Same settings on IReport except can target a different external server and that connection works.
