Oracle 9i installation failed

Hi

I was trying to install oracle 9i on my machine. Actually i had oracle 9i and i deleted it due to some reasons. I gave my global database name as TEST. Now after the completion of installation, it throwed an error, Test already exists please specify another name and closed the unversal installer. I checked the tnsnames.ora and there is no entry in it. I kept the disc 1 again hoping that i can change the database name and create an entry in tnsnames.ora. But i could not. How to create a database now.

Can you try once again with different name say "Test1" and check if it works out?

What yo did, uninstalled oracle or simply deleted the oracle folder ?

deleted all the oracle folders, and also the registry entry. I tried once again, but this time it shows you cannot install on already existing oracle home, please select another home.when i create manual home, it says oracle home ora92 exists u cannot create another.

you should have un-installed the oracle home and rebooted the system before reinstalling .

if the SID still exists in the services uninstall that using ORADIM.
