REFCURSORS over dblinks

Hi,

i have a problem where i have a procedure which returns a refcursor as OUT parameter.

CREATE PROCEDURE ABC(policy_dt IN DATE, transactionRS OUT REFCURSOR)

as

begin

open

transactionRS
for
select a,b,c,d from x,y............
end
end;
/

now, my interface is tryin gto access this procedure over a dblink.

they keep getiing: 'statement handle not executed'.

i learned that it is not posible to pass REFCURSORS over dblinks.
Can someone help me out with alternative solutions.

Declare the refcursor and the procedure in side a package and call the package using the DB Link.
