I got the follwoing error in my alert log. Please help me what is the root cause of this error and what is the best solution to resolve this error.

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [string] [string] [string] [string] [string] [string]

Cause: An OS exception occurred which should result in the creation of a core file. This is an internal error.

Action: Contact your customer support representative.

I would suggest you to raise a TAR with Oracle on this issue.

Other causes:

A quick search on metalink revealed that this might be related to a previous SHUTDOWN ABORT that caused block corruption.
