    REG:oracle apps

    hi

i have a report which prints voucher number and its corresponding payment details. some voucher numbers may have only one record and some may have many.my requirement is if a new instance of voucher number starts the printer should automaticcally start printing in a new page, i,e. if a new voucher number starts its formatiing on the page it should be on a fresh new page.
Now it is printing as per the output i,e. first voucher number and second in page 1 itself as they have only 1 records corresponding to them each. I tried with page break after but it is of no use.
Plese suggest a solution, should we code for printer directly or is there any other option.

    thank u

Do the following to get the page break for each voucher number:

I think Voucher number and all otehr columns will be in same Group of the Report Query.

Now you Pull the Voucher Number out of the existing group and place it in the another group as a parent for the existing group.

For eg: Group G_VoucherNo -> Parent to the group G_1 (With all other columns)

Now you need to place 2 repeating frames in the Layout:

The outer repeating frame set to G_VoucherNo
The inner repeating frame set to G_1

Now for the outer repeating frame, set the PAGE BREAK AFTER to YES.
This will get you the page break for all the voucher number details.

I hope this will help because I have tried in Reports 6i and it works!!

      hi

Voucher number is in the outer Parent repeating frame and details are in the child, i tried with page break after to the outer repeating frame. I could see a small square in the output that seperates two pages, but when i try to take printout the details of two vouchers come into one page. i want the printer to take a new page ,no matter the remaing part of the page is wasted, for each voucher number.

      thank you

In that case, u probably try extending the size of the main frame, and two repeating frames to page size and make the horizontal and vertical elasticity as FIXED. Set the size of the main and repeating frames depending on the type of the printer you are using....ie LANDSCAPE or PORTRAIT.

          thank you very much

I was able to solve the problem partially with that solution. When a voucher number has 1 or 2 or 3 records it prints in one page and the next voucher voucher number starts in the seond page. But for voucher numbers having 15 to 20 records the last record ends inthe mid of the page and the nextvoucher number starts there itself. So, the problem is partially solved.

Well, this should not happen becuase if it is working fine for 3 records then it should work fine for any number. What you could try is extending the frame size further if it helps for more number of records as well.
