Problem installing Oracle 9i in Windows XP

When im trying to install Oracle 9i by clicking on the setup.exe then the error message is "Error in writing to C:\Docu~\admin\ orac.. please make sure the folder is not read only and the disc is having 32 MB of free disc space"

But my drive has 5 Gb of free hard disc space . I tried making the docu~ folder not read only but still the same problem .Please help me in rectifying this problem

Have you already installed Oracle software on the same box ? Or it is first oracle installation?

In XP you might be having a user name other than 'Administrator' but having administrative privileges.
Are you logging in with login name : 'Administrator' ?
There might be a disk quota limit for your userid/ login name which is filling up. Please check it.

I don't sure but it may help:
a)change your temp directory to smth more short for example C:\Temp
b)try to start oracle installer from directory with short path for example C:\ora

In windows OS "MY DOCUMENTS" is an default folder that is created automatically during windows installation. so, that might be too a problem for this error. Its better to install oracle in any other logical drives.

                    example:
d:\oracle... or e:\oracle (if my suggestion does'nt work (or) is wrong in pls apologize ) bye..
