SQL standards editor discusses SQL:2003, XQuery and APIs

Jim Melton, standards architect at Oracle and editor of the SQL standard,
discusses SQL/XML (technically part 14 of the new SQL:2003 standard).
He also discusses data access APIs and the integration of XQuery into SQL.

Running time for this program is 6:15 (streaming video or audio)

good stuff, ken -- but i'm afraid if you post stuff like this to other than
c.d.o. marketplace, you're going to get targeted by the spam police, which
always gets real messy -- also, they are REALLY touchy about posting to more
    than one c.d.o. forum

thanks again for the informative post

The charter is very clear about the content of the "marketplac e" newsgroup. This
is not a job listing or an ad for a commercial product or service

They have a right to their opinion. Consider this definition of newsgroup spam:

"single message sent to 20 or more Usenet newsgroups"

Common sense is the best guideline. Are Jim Melton's remarks informative or
spam? Are they useful to DBAs and developers or promoting a product or service?
