How to fix adapters connecting to internet.

    Hi all,

I have a situation where the main computer running win7 cannot connect to the internet using any method.
This includes wifi USB adapter or Ethernet LAN cable.
This is not a router problem as all other computers and laptop connect to the wifi correctly.
This is not a cable problem as the same cable was used with a laptop to confirm that it works.
Device manager show Netgear USB adapter working properly and Realtek PCI-E (motherboard) working properly.
CMD does not show the two adapters.
I have tried disabling drives and enabling them, then uninstall and reinstall but no use. Even updating the drivers automatically and manually did not help.
I looked over the web but all the resolved solution did not work for me.
I am running out of option to think off. can anyone help.

    Thank you in advance

I would approach this a few different ways. First, I would connect another device, ensure that something can connect. Then I'd try to connect another Win7 device, ensure that Win7 (or some update/patch therein) is not the issue.

Once you're sure it's the system, I'd suggest checking if the NIC is embedded into the motherboard or not. If not, then power the system down, open the case, and then remove and re-insert the NIC card and make sure all the connections are snug and correct. Then turn the computer back on, and ensure the correct driver (and update level) is installed by Google searching the manufacturer's name, the specific card you have, the OS you are using, and the word driver (or possibly even error if you want to see if others have had your same issue) - such as 'broadcom 5709 windows 7 driver'

Finally, check and see if the device registers in the Device Manager - if you can disable/enable it, and make sure it's enabled.

The last resort, if all else fails, would be to back up your data and re-install the OS to ensure everything was installed correctly. If that doesn't work, then it's time to engage the support of the NIC manufacturer.
