I need a "closed" wireless connection

I need something and am not sure what to ask (by the way I am a regular contributor to the VB.NET forum here - so I thought I'd wander over here for some advice...)
I need to set up a wireless link on a network. This has to appear on the network just as though I simply plugged in a computer with a fixed IP address, netmask, dns, etc. It cannot appear to the network like anything else - or it will shut me down.
Some background might help: I will be at a major convention and I need to have a wireless device (yes - an iPAD) connect to our network. At the convention we have to purchase each IP address. That's not a problem as we budgeted for it. But one thing the people at the convention simply do not allow is for anyone to set up their own wireless network on their booth. Somehow they will know you have done this by "sniffing" your IP Addresses and will shut you down. Period (full stop).
But I need to show off an iPAD application connected wirelessly.
Is there a piece of equipment I can purchase that will allow me to set it up just like a PC (set the IP address, NetMask, DNS, etc) but it is actually a wireless link to my iPAD? It can't show up as some wireless device that hands out IP addresses (obviously turning on DHCP would be a very bad thing here) - and the connection between my iPAD and the network needs to be totally transparent.
Is this possible? If so, how?
Thanks for any help you can give me folks!

That isn't possible because even if you managed to do everything you said you will still be transmitting RF and will be detectable.

That is they wont detect your wireless network via detecting the base station on the wired network but rather just by seeing what wireless networks there are to attach to and you can't change that because that is how you iPad would attach.

A simple network search with a WiFi enabled laptop would show up your presence.

    Sorry

Is your ipad the 3G version? If not you could think about seeing if the company will get you one of those for the convention.

...and of course you are right. I was originally worried about the back end - finding a wireless device from the copper side but in reality it's all an enclosed space so sweeping for invalid wireless signals would out me in a pico-second.
C'est la vie. I may look at the 3G option - but getting back into my network at the show looks to be a challenge as well so this looks like we have to find a way to play their game.
I wonder if there is any way to hard-wire a network connection to an iPad?

I am in no way condoning you to go against their rules, but a thought did occur to me, what about bluetooth? operates on the same frequency range, but is not really a wifi connection. Did the rules say anything about bluetooth?

Thanks - I just read the information. It talks about anything in the 2.4 and 5.8 frequency range - and that covers BT - unfortunately.
Thinking about all that their rules kinda make sense since there will be hundreds of booths and if everyone set up their own wireless none of them would likely work!
