What type of box is it? What type of information is that? Whoever issued you the username and password will be able to tell you how to login to the box.

Thanks for the replay.... But still I doesn't have the information how to?

I want to know what is the general way. since I am new to this. I tried with ftp clients which leads to get the feedback "no ftp". It is a hosting location.

      Thanks,
      John .

The person who gave you the username and password should be able to tell you that information.

FTP will only work if the system is hosting an FTP server (which it's obviously not).

What are the credentials for? Where did you get them? You have to know if and what kind of application you're going to connect to in order to figure out how to connect to it.

Webhosting is usually done by ftp
they gave you a host name...

try ftp.hostname.co m but you should use an FTP client

If it's a webserver set to accept files, then you should be able to upload them using the method the admin set up. Have you spoken to the admin?
