Use eee pc as router?

I have a ASUS eee Pc (the linux version) that have access to wireless Internet.

Can I somehow connect a network cable to the eee pc to give Internet access to an other computer? (a windows xp computer). So it acts as a router or something like that?

As the eeePC has a standard ethernet port, you should be able to bridge the network. A quick google search gave me this manual, but I have not read all of it. It should be OK though.

Note that this will mean a considerable amount of work, including possibly recompiling the kernel. It's not difficult, but don't imagine something like "plug and play".

I can't run ifconfig in my terminal, me no Linux expert here :(

What exactly do you mean, you "can't run ifconfig in [your] terminal"? Do you mean, you don't know how to or does it give you an error?

What exactly do you mean, you "can't run ifconfig in [your] terminal"? Do you mean, you don't know how to or does it give you an error?

Gives me an error, something like this:

>ifconfig
bash: ifconfig: not found


and the same with ifconfig eth0, ifconfig ath0, ifconfig wlan0
and i have net-tools with ifconfig

but i can't use it in the shell
