    home network

    I have two XP machines one with ethernet cable connection to a broadband WRT300 router and one machine with a wireless conection to the broadbandrouter both can use the internet conection with out problem both can use the printer attached to the broadbandrouter .From the wireless pc I can acess files on the wired pc without problem but not the other way arround can somebody help?

    make sure file and print sharing is enabled on the wireless pc, and check the firewall settings, TCP ports 139 and 443, UDP 137 and 138 should be allowed. To get to the windows firewall go start>control panel>windows firewall, and if you hit the exceptions tab thats where you specify what ports to open(if the windows firewall is enabled). You can also specify the scope, so you don't allow access to everyone, you could just put the IP of the other computer. Also if you have an antivirus, you probably have a firewall with you antivirus, you'll have to check the settings in there as well.

        thanks scotter it was the virus scanner firewall that block the access.
