    Internet not working

    Hey guys.

    Reformatted my system (Pentium 3.0ghz, Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro 2 mobo running Windows XP w/ SP2) and now I can't find the drivers cd - I downloaded all the drivers off Gigabyte's website and installed them but I'm still not getting any registering of the internet or some of my rear USB ports. I'm looking for the cd with the original (and working, iirc) drivers and it should turn up eventually (I've reformatted several times before, the computer's probably 3 years old now) but is there anything I can do to fix it in the meantime or anything obvious I'm missing?

    Thanks;

    Jim

    Is 'System Restore' available? Of course, this might bring back whatever issue that caused you to reformat, but it might also help get the drivers you are missing.

      I'll give that a go but I seem to remember last time that the only way I could get the internet working was using the drivers off Gigabyte's webpage or from their cd, I can't remember which one - which now don't seem to be doing anything after I install them.

        You should be able to look through your restores and select a date where you will (hopefully) have all your drivers, but I'm not entirely sure. I haven't used it in a while, as I found out the hard way it was a nice place for virii to sit and not be detected.

          If you go into device manager are any of them not loaded with proper drivers?

            Download the right driver for your motherboard and operating system.

            Then go into the device manager and point the network driver to the right location.

            Restart and you should be on the internet. If you are not that good with computers let us know and we will guide you step by step.

            Cyber.
