can anybody explain abt wildcard mask

as i recalled it was a sign wich represents a special type of type :)

for example: ? is always a number, or must always be inputted as a numeric value. # for example can be any kind of alphanumeric value.

See the reference with the program you're working with... i don't think these have a standard ?
