    will visual basic.net suffice?

Hello and thank you in advance for any help provided.
I am faced with the task of developing a database driven application that
utilizes windows mobile 2003 handhelds for data collection. I was planning on
coding both "parts" (desktop and handheld) of the application using VB.

My question is: Would Visual Basic.net fulfill my needs in regards to mobile
app development, or do I need to spring for Visual studio?

Technically you don't need VS.NET to build compact framework apps - I know
www.msmobiles.com had a link on how to do it but I can't find it right now.
However I would highly recommmend springing for VS.NET just b/c it'll pay
for itself in time and aggraviation

(you can find what you need here).
