Application fails with error: 80040154 when attempting to open a doc in Word 2010

Application fails with error: 80040154 when attempting to open a doc in Word 2010.

I have a VB.Net app that uses word to open documents. I am running VS 2008 on my PC with Office 2003. When I build the exe and transfer it over to a PC running Windows 7 and Office 2010 I get the 80040154 error - Retrieveing the COM class factory for component with CLSID {000209FF-0000-0000=c000-000000000000046 } failed due to the following error: 80040154.

The Microsoft.Offic e.Interop.word. DLL gets copied as part of the project build and I have tried botha local and non local copy.

I've been resesarching for 2 days and nothing works.

    Any thoughts or Ideas ?

Word has to be installed on the computer where your application is being deployed to. If the DLL that your application is attempting to use is not registered (ie the application is not installed) then you will see this error.

Thank you for your response. My clients had advised me that they had word installed and actually displayed it to me. What they didn't tell me was that it was a demo copy only, downloaded form the MS web site, and it uses some form of a virtualized image.
Do once they purchased a real copy of Word, then my project worked as designed.

      Thanks
