    Hey.

    You are going to have to give us a LOT more info on what you actually did, and what went wrong. Like, say;
    • Which OS are you using? (XP, Vista, W7, etc...),
    • What exactly are you trying to install? (Where did you get the installer? What is it called?)
    • Did you get any usable errors? (Knowing that something went wrong and knowing the reason why it went wrong are two very different things.)
    • What exactly did you do? How did you try to do this?

And anything else that you think may be useful.

Also, you may want to avoid posting .Net/MSSQL questions in a MySQL forum.
(Don't worry, I have already moved this to the .Net forum. Try to remember this in the future tho!)

      vb.net installation problem

      Hi

I am using xp professional on my pc

it is software on a cd I got from my university for my studys
I am trying to install vb.net express edition when the installation was giving me problems

it doesn't tell me wat went wrong with the installation it just tels me that sql server 2005 was unable to install and it encountered a problem and will end

I just entered the CD in to the driver and followed the installation setups on the CD

after the problem happened I uninstalled all my sql files and retry to install VB and it gives me the same error

      Thanks

        Ok, I see.

Maybe there is something wrong with the installer. Try using the one from the Microsoft website (see here).

Why not try running Windows Update prior to installing VB.NET? Running windows update might solve some weird problems.

Also temporarily disable any antivirus software that you might be running in your pc. Happy trying :)

I think that your database can be corrupted. there are a variety of data recovery tools, you may try the sql recover ndf file program, for example
