2.0 on Vista?! Trying to install 3.5 with no success

    Hi all,

I've searched the groups, searched the net but can't find a solution
to what I assume is something very simple.

I have Vista with SP1. I have also installed Visual Studio 2008. I
see that I have 2.0 (Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework
    Version:2.0.507 27.3053; ASP.NET Version:2.0.507 27.3053), but I've
downloaded and successfully executed dotnetfx35setup .exe, which is the
    "3.5 SP1". Yet, I am still seeing that it's version 2.0!!!

Can someone please help? I don't know if it's something to change in
IIS and if so, can you please point me to how? I thought VS 2008 came
with 3.5? Ahhh, I won't keep guessing! Please help someone!

    Thanks so much in advance,
    Rachel

It does come with .NET 3.5. .NET 3.0 and 3.5 are, in effect, add ons to 2.0,
so you should have all three.
Check in Windows Explorer at C:(or, your OS
    drive)\Windows\ Microsoft.NET\F ramework and you
    should see v2.0... and v3.0... and v3.5...
You may see more than one folder for a version if you have Service Packs
    installed.
If you have these folders, all is well.
