UNC path

hi, I am doing a program in vb 2005 using a twain scanner and my destination path is a UNC path. I encountered a problem since the user has no access rights to the UNC path.How do I code using vb 2005 to check the access right of the said user.Thanks in advance.

Use a try/catch. If it fails with a security exception(or whatever the exception is), then the user has no rights to it?
