Socket Server Problem

Huy,

I have made a tcp server which will listen on a specific ip and port, it is working fine but the problem is that i donot have any public ip. i am behind a proxy server and when i try to listen on my local ip, obviously it would not be visible from outsid. how to overcome this problem. i am using c# as programming language.

Same is the problem on client side.

(Are you behind a proxy or a router/firewall?)
You would need to configure the proxy server to allow for outside communications on a specific port to be allowed through it and directed towards you.
Then you would direct users to the outside IP address and port, which the proxy server would then (hopefully) direct inside to you.

If you have access to the proxy, forward the appropriate port to your server.

If you have access to your firewall, you can do one of two things: either forward the appropriate port to your server, or move your server into the DMZ.

i am behind a proxy and i donot have access to proxy server. i want to know the procedure like adapted by yahoo messenger etc. Bcoz for using yahoo messenger we only have to provide proxy server ip and port and then we can communicate over internet, we donot have to do any port forwarding etc.
plz reply, i have very less time for my project.
