code to access a folder

can any one help me to get the logic for this.

The code should automatically access a folder from local system and the files should be added to zip folder and stored in the local system with another name.


Is it possible and if yes how

As of .Net2.0 (and maybe earlier?) there is a System.IO.Compr ession namespace that has methods for gZIPing, you should look into those, they should be able to help you.
