Vista and XP

I have a VB.net program in .exe format compiled in XP. Will this run
on Vista or must I re-compile on a Vista machine?

It's not a matter of recompiling it, but it might need rewriting.

But most programs that run on XP will run on Vista, but they might get
"virtualize d" if they write to Program Files or to HKLM. Better to
supply a "Vista-aware" manifest (which suppresses virtualization) and
fix the code if it doesn't run correctly.
