unable to create web project - MS-VS-2003

I am creating web projects in MS-VS-2003, however when i publish to the virtual server configured as an IIS instance, the copy project option of VS-2003 is giving me a msg like.

"unable to create web project. The filepath "x" doesnt correspond to the URL, http://www.xxx.com, the two need to map to the same server location.

Any advise ?

Virtual server, hmm... have you loaded a simple page to test the domain? Here is an article that may help:

i tried that option, but didn't solve the issue.

Can you use the server name instead?
