    .net framework 1.1 error

    Hi

I ma trying to run Microsoft Train Simulator from my external hard drive which is connected to my laptop. Whenever I try and run train simulator I keep getting the following error microsoft.net framework 1.1 setup command line option syntax error. type command /? for help..I have just had my laptop back after being repaired before I sent it in for repair I was able to play train simulator using my external hard drive and my laptop but know since I have had the laptop back I have been unable to. I have tried installing the game on my main hard drive and this works fine but this is not what I want it to do.

Can any of you guys suggest anything? I have tried installing more recent releases of .net framework such as 3.0 but still get the same error

    Thanks
    James
