T-SQL in a dataset

Hi,

I do not know if this is at all possible, I am looking for either of the following 2 solutions:
1. How can I connect a dataset to a XML file which is a representation of a table with the field and index definitions? Which type of ConnectionStrin g do I use?

2. Once I have a dataset with say a single table in the dataset, how can I manipulate it using T-SQL as I am a lot more proficient using T-SQL than VB.Net?

Hope there is somebody out there that can assist me...
