I am working asp.net 2003 I want to shift to 2005 ,<br>when i install it is showing a error msg that service pack 1 is required to do it ,<br> when i ask my network admin he said you want to remove the os and reinstall new os for service pack<br> ,with out reinstalling can we configer dotnet 2oo5

I dont kow but thing thay say is it is not original licenced os so u have to do this

Hi,
for 2003 it is required but 2005 it doent required , if you install OS xp then no need to install service pack u can directly install .net2005 u will not any problem, while installing the 2005 it doesnt ask regaring the service pack1

But presently i am using server 2003 ,I dont want to remove it

If it's not licensed, you can't get the updates. Namely the .net framework packages, which aren't always included in the OS install.
You can try look for downloadable packages manually, but you'd be better off re-installing a legal copy of an OS
