    XDR approval

    Hi,
I have read that XSD was approved (by W3C) on may 2001, and about XDR there
is a note dated january 1998.
    ¿When was approved XDR?

    Thanks

I think XDR never became a recommendation, XSD is what the W3C developed
    to recommendation status.

There are lots of Notes which never see the light-of-day. When a proposal
is under active consideration, they are developed through these stages:

      Working Draft (a work-in-progress)
      Candidate Recommendation
      Proposed Recommendation
      Recommendation

XML Data Reduced (XDR) was just an interim suggestion made by (primarily)
Microsoft. It's a dead-end. You'll only encounter XDR in (primarily) MS apps
released prior to XML Schema's adoption. It's only important if you must inter-
operate with this old install base (and it's worth asking: will your application be
      deployed before they upgrade?)
