how to display a text in datagrird

I can display full table in a griedview
but how can i display only somecolumns in a table
and how to display some text for an instanace 'Itemmaster' in a datagrid

One to achieve this, if I understand your question, is to set autogenerate to false and have the column in the datagrid code. HTH.
