SQLdatasource using querystring does not work

This should work but doesn't. There are no examples explaining if something is missing. ALL examples say "That's all that is required!"

Please tell me where I can find full examples or posts if you know of any.

I want to make a detailsview use a sqldatasource which gets its select value from the querystring.

Does anyone else have this problem?
I know this should work but???? What I'm I missing?
An Imports declaration perhaps?

Do you use a connection string? Please provide more info and the rest of your relevant code. Do you receive any errors? Thanks.
