Microsoft development environment

In Visual studio.NET,I tryed to connect my database(sql server2003).i got an error like this SQL server does not exists or Access Denied.can you help me how to solve this error......plz

What is your connection string?
Do you have SQL running and have "named pipes" and all the stuff enabled that you need for remote conntections to sql?
