Learn VB.NET first using .NET 2005 with SQL Server as backend. then go for C# and ASP.NET -
I'd reverse this - go with what you know - C# will be easier for you I believe. Database is less important than the principles of ADO.NET. I assume you want to work in the area, so you will need to canvass job ads and see what employers are looking for in your town. HTH.Comment

you can download the express version of C# for FREE from Microsoft's website. There's nothing as good as actualing using it. It uses a C-type syntax and, in my opinion, is much easier to understand than C++. If you can do C++, C# will be very easy for you I think.Comment
