changing server side technology and Search Engine Optimization

Ok I know its probably not relevant here but i didn't know of a good place to
post. I have been asked to develop a site in asp.net. The current site is
written in PHP, if i change the server side technology to dot net will it
affect the sites search engine rank. The site gets 70000 unique visits per
month so losing the ranking is not an option. I have read a few articles on
SEO and it mentions the url as a factor, so i have a feeling that changing
the pages extension to aspx is going to affect it.

If someone could let us know either way i would be very grateful

    thanks in advance

Site ranking is based on content - not platform/development technology. As
long as the site continues to be navigable to search engine robots, has a
default page and the content remains relevent in its ranking area it should
    make no difference.
