We use web services for connecting to oracle server (XML code). The front-end
application is a vb.net smart device application running on a windows mobile
2003. The records are locked by the above said web service whenever the
user's handheld. But whenever the handheld freezes for some reason (battery
down another example - or hung), the record locked by the above service (XML)
does not get released - Only the PDT which locked it is able to access the
record and release it. Is there someway we can timeout this lock?
2. We also authenticate the PDT (Portable Data Terminal) through Kerberos.
Is there a way to find out the logged username in the smart device app?
Any help would be much appreciated.
