I have to create an application that is able to handle the following:
- The application needs to handle the requests of several thousand clients
(scalability is needed) and to serve them with specific data - and to be able
to receive e.g. status values from all the clients (some sort of management
solution).
Of course, encryption and authentication are need for every client.
Now, what would be the appropriate design for the server solution? I've
thought about a .net webservice (framework 2.0b2) - do you agree? Would this
match the purpose I mentioned? If so, are there any get-started examples for
webservices under VS2005?
