Debug Log on PDA?

Newbie question..:)

How can I create a debug log on the PDA and write to it using trace
statements for debugging in the feild when a debugger isn't available?

I think you can use the Console application mentioned here to display
them. I am not entirely sure though, so my apologies if I mislead!
