"The bootstrap could not be loaded."

I am receiving this message when attempting to deploy to a CE5.0 device
using VS 2005 Beta 2. Any suggestions on the cause and fix for this?

    Thanks,
    WB

I haven't been able to anything on this error on the net either - it has
been asked, but not answered. Anyone from MS have any suggestions on what is
causing this error? I have exhausted every avenue I can think of short of
hoping that a complete reinstall of VS might fix something, but that seems
    extreme.

Please note how you fixed the issue so if any of your fellow coders run into
this sort of issue, we will benefit from your effort.
