    Simple Email Trigger Question, just am very new to triggers

    Hi,

    I'm trying to send an email to' sample@sample.c om' when a new row on my table contactform_con is inserted. Basically, when a person fills out the contact form (contactform_co n) I want one email to go to one person to let them know.

    I've tried doing this using both navicat and PHPMyAdmin, but I've had no success.

    I've tried using EXEC xp_sendmail, but I'm not even sure if I have that as a stored procedure, or if I do need to.

    All I really need is an email going to 'sample@sample. com' that is basically

    @subject='clien tname_con' has contacted you!
    @recipient='sam ple@sample.com'
    @message='quesi ton_con'

    when table contactform_con has a new row inserted.

    Please help,
    I've been online for hours, because I felt this was too simple of a question to not be able to figure out, but I guess I'm even more simple than the question.

    xp_sendmail is a part of MS SQL.

    MySQL as far as I know has no support for sending emails.

        If you are inserting the rows through a php script you would be able to modify it to send emails upon a successful insert.
