Connect, store and retrive database in mysql..!!!

Hi all...!!

I am very new to MYSQL. Now the problem I am facing is, I have to connect, store and retrive the data in mysql from one system to another system. The systems are using WIN XP. What is the procedure..? Can anybody explain me..?

How will you be connecting to you database? Though PHP or some other custom made interface, or through some MySQL admin application?

What exactly are you trying to do? Just creating a backup? Using the data in an application?
