    Re: random connect/authenication error

I think it's happening when more than one person tried to connect at the
same time ... this is just a guess, but when i was on my messageboard, there
was several people on there, and i got the error message more frequently
    than I usually do.

http://www.saxmanwebs.com, if you want to check that out, play around it for
a while and you should hit the error.

      Re: random connect/authenication error

      Here's what I'd try.... 3rd and 10 again...

      flush priviledges - try that.

Maybe set it up by actual ip address instead of localhost... 127.0.0.1 or
      dang it....

      jkupe@127.0.0.1 or....???

enter into your users table host: your actual ip instead of fqdn,
and see if it's not a network resolve thing...
      or another way...

check the hosts file for 127.0.0.1 localhost?? or add your own entry to
it so that whatever you're connecting from will work directly as an ip
address so it doesn't have to verify the local host bit if you can get
      my drift.

      heck I don't know,
It's been a long time since I had to do anything network wise on a box
like this - (sorry but mine works forever and I forgot all this stuff
.... lol..) - but I REALLY THINK, that this is what is causing the
      connection problem.

There's gotta be some linux network box guru on this thread somewhere
      listening...

It took me about 80 tries before I got a connect error, so it may be
            your config settings.

Do this and see what your system vars are:

To see what values a running MySQL server is using, type
'mysqladmin variables' instead of 'mysqld --help'.
The default values (after parsing the command line arguments) are:
