Is the iPhone 5 worth the extra money?

I'm up for a contract renewal with my carrier (AT&T) pretty soon and am finally taking the plunge into a Smartphone. I'm interested in an iPhone, but I was wondering whether it's worth the extra $100 to get a 5 vs a 4s.

Given all the recent stories about problems with the new model does anyone have any advice as to whether the new version is worth the extra money?

IMHO: I never buy the first release of any product. IF your current phone works, i'd wait a few months and let the bugs work out. Just because your contract term is expiring shouldn't mean that you go jump into the fire to renew it...

If the objective is to save money and not go for the latest and greatest because of all the rumors and stories then yep go for the iphone 4s.

One other step you can take is instead of signing up for the 4s via your carrier and locking in another long term contract pick a second hand one up from craigslist and upgrade via your contract to the 5 or 5s later on.
