    installing .NET Compact Framework 2.0

    Hi,

I've dowloaded the NETCFSetupv2.ms i file from the microsoft website to my pocket PC (which runs on Windows Mobile 5.0), to install .NET Compact Framework 2.0

However, I can't run/open this *.msi file (Windows Mobile 5.0 doesn't seem to recognize it).

    Can anybody help me

    Kind regards

    Hey,

The MSI probably needs installed on your PC and it will install .Net 2.0 onto your device for you (assuming it is connected via active sync/Windows mobile device center). Mobile devices tend to use .CAB installation files. You need that.

Correct, *.msi files are for your desktop. *.cab files are for your device. Normally if Microsoft distributes an application via *.msi that is for your mobile device you need to install it on your desktop and then connect your device through active sync. Once you are connected active sync will install the program to your device. You will then need to look at your device for further instructions to complete the install (if there are any).
