    what to do about slow guest install on fedora 12 with kvm

    i am trying to install redhat 6.2 on fedora 12 so i can test accuracy of old programs on fedora 12 and redhat 6.2 Loading virtual guest redhat 6.2 is very slow.

    So, you installed Redhat 6.2 in a virtual machine on a Fedora 12 system, right? What VM software are you using? What are the settings for that VM? Does it have enough RAM? Have you installed the tools on the guest system, that come with many VM packages? And is the VM starting anything, that you don't need? For example, do you need a graphical interface on there or will a command line do?

    Also, a bit of information on the host system would be good - how much RAM does that have, are there other tasks running in the background, that might use up a lot of resources?
