i have tried for installing linux on sata but it gives error that disk does not found. i want to know which version is suitable for client server architechure and having sata disks?

This has nothing to do with SATA. You are supplying a non-existent drive/partition. Post the exact commands you are using and which distro you are trying to install. Most distros have an install CD with a GUI interface so you pick the partition you want to install to from the menu.
