Facing problem in installing Ubuntu 10.04 on HCL notebook

I have HCl notebook , i m facing problems in installing Ubuntu 10.04 ..
at boot the DVD stops after a while after showing the logo of Ubuntu
the DVD from which i m installing is Desktop Edition....

Unfortunately, I have not experienced this issue. Have you searched the ubuntu forums for this issue? They are pretty extensive and the best place to resolve those issues.
