Well, when trying to install Windows software on Linux, the project "wine" is normally the route you take. However, these three links suggest, that you may well have a big problem trying to install them.

Mind you, there are other IDEs available for Linux that are also great. If you tell us which language(s) you're working with, I'm sure we can find a suitable IDE for you.

    Greetings,
    Nepomuk

If you are using VB.NET in Visual Studio then surely your target platform is Windows?

Generally it is best to develop your program on the same platform as the target.

However if you really want to use VB.NET on Linux then try researching SharpDevelop and/or MonoDevelop.

If you are really wanting to run Visual Studio on Linux, then you could look into the CodeWeavers software.

Looking at their compatibility list, they list up to Visual Studio 2008.

          Regards,
