    Freeze after few hours inactive

    Hi

I am new in Linux World.
I have installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 in Pentium 4 machine.

And after few hours inactive, my linux does not
respond at all. Then I have to trun off machine and restart it again.
and this is everyday story with my linux.

Can anyone please help me to solve this problem

    Thanks

A good place to start looking is your log files. /var/log/ specifically look at dmesg and message files. Look for any relevant messages around the time the machine froze.

You also might want a more modern distro than RHEL5. Ubuntu, perhaps?
