Installing RedHat 9 on SATA harddisk

I have samsung SATA 180 gb HDD, and have RH Linux 9 CDs, when try to install linux on this HDD, it do not recognize the sata harddisk. I understand at the days when RH linux 9 was released , there were no SATA. so it is clearly a driver's problem.. Does any one know how to overcome this?

Find your SATA controller, and see what it says about it.
Since you did not state the chipset, do a: lspci | grep IDE, and then search through the page, or first googe it...
