    MP3 Help??

    Hello friends, my query is that how can I play mp3&DAT file on RHEL5??

    I don't know what a DAT file is, but MPlayer or Rhythmbox would probably work for mp3 files.

      You will need to download and install the MP3 LAME codecs to play MP3 files. Due to legal issues they generally can not be included in distributions.

        you can install vlc player..
        just issue the command
        'yum install vlc' thats it.

          I guess "mp3blaster " should be available for Red Hat too - it's console based, so you can use it without having to fire up an X Server.
          Of course, a lot of people need the X Server anyway. If you want one with a GUI, I too would recommend VLC. It plays nearly everything. :-)
