    Unix Server Installation

    HI,
    Very good evening

    I am new user of Unix Administration but I don't know how to congifure and installed Unix please tell me, I installed Red Hat Linux Enterprises 5 Edition in a desktop but hp printer 2605 not connected, lan card is also not detected please give me some information regarding this prob I thankful to all friends and which isa support me.

    Please don't confuse Unix with Linux. They are not exactly the same thing. Linux is a Unix work-a-like.

    RedHat should have good help docs on their site.

      On this page you'll find instructions about your printer working under Linux and I'm sure, you'll find infos about your lan card on the Red Hat Website.
      It would be interesting to know, if it's listed when you call ifconfig (it would be eth0, eth1 or similar). If so, it has recognized your card, but it's not set up yet. Else, you'll have to install the drivers. I often found it helpful to search Google with the name of the card and the word "Linux" or the name of the Distribution.
